The School of Chemistry and Environmental Engineering runs five departments: chemistry, chemical engineering, environmental engineering, polymer Materials and operational teaching centre. There are five undergraduate programs: chemistry, chemical engineering and technology, process equipment & control engineering, environmental engineering, material science and engineering. The chemical engineering and technology are undergraduate model programs of high schools in Hubei province and national brand program, and chemical engineering and technology is first class discipline of Hubei province key (cultivate) subject. There are a master's degree authorization of Chemical Engineering and Technology as first-class discipline and eight master's degree authorization as sub-discipline: polymer chemistry and physics, chemical engineering, chemical technology, industrial catalysis, applied chemistry, bio-chemical, materials chemical engineering, chemical biological technology and engineering. Our college has the right to grant master's degree in Chemical Engineering and a post-doctoral research station. In total there are more than 1100 undergraduate & 50 graduate students and 110 faculty in School, more than 70% teachers have doctoral degree or have been studying abroad.
At present, there are four national and provincial industrialization bases and three research centers of provincial engineering technology in the School, including key laboratory of optoelectronic chemical materials and devices，ministry of education, flexible display materials and technology co-innovation center of Hubei province, Hubei key laboratory of industrial fume and dust pollution control and Integration of industry graduate education innovation base of Jianghan University & Haiso technology Co., Ltd, which is for graduate education at the provincial level innovation base.
